The Xian Tang Dynasty

Xian Tang Dynasty known in ancient times as Changan is the capital of Shaanxi province. This province was called a gold city for its bountiful fertile soil, plenty of rainfall, a mild climate and the rich products. There are currently more than two million in population it is the worlds largest city.

Changan was larger in size compared to both imperial Rome and the medieval London. Proceeded by Sui Dynasty this imperial dynasty ruled china during 618 A. D. To 907 A. D. With five other dynasties to follow. The Li family was Tang Dynasty founders after overtaking the empire during the collapse of Sui Dynasty.

Serving as the capital for twelve dynasties that have more than 1120 years of the earliest societies. Xians government is attempting to return the city to its previous glory. This city which is larger than Beijing Forbidden City, is loaded with gorgeous and breath taking architecture. They are noted for the elaborate history museum which contains stone tablets from the Tang dynasty.

The largest degree of distribution of materials can be found in the city Xian. Throughout northern China are approximately one hundred thousand different services offered. Though this city is abound with industry it has continued to maintain the rich history and stunning botanical gardens.

When traveling to Xian a must visit is the western market which has been reopen in the same spot it would have been fourteen hundred years earlier. And a city wall which is Chinas oldest and largest as well as best preserved defenses system.

Changan was a city of celebrations including large events such as the Chinese New Year. Also popular were the cold food festival and a Lantern Festival. As the city celebrated the Lantern Festival in historical times, they would lift all curfews through out the city for the entire three days of the celebration. The imperial throne also bestowed upon the city during 628 A. D through 758 A. D. Numerous colorful carnivals.

Historically known for its luxury and beauty the city continues to deliver its rich history. The royal palace Da Min Gong was located in the city for Chinas government during the time of the Tang Dynasty. History and historical beauty continue to be discovered in this city. During 1974 an excavation revealed the tomb of Emperor Shih Huang ti and inside was six thousand terra cotta figurines designed to be a replicate of an army. In 1990 there were eight hundred royal tombs found that contained many remnants of sacrificial temples and miniature clay soldiers.

Planning a trip to tour Xian Tang Dynasty promise to be one filled with history. The exhibition center has the terra cotta warriors and horses on display that were discovered in the emperors tomb. Jiaozi is the Chinese name for dumplings which have been the most represented food in china for thousands of years. A local restaurant, Defachang offers a dumpling banquet where you can listen to traditional Chinese music and eat dumplings available in twelve different varieties. This is a wonderful city to visit for anyone that has a passion for beauty and history.
